How It Works

The Mock Data Generator parses your JSON schema definition and produces realistic fake data entirely in your browser — no data is sent to any server.

  • Schema-driven — define your data shape as a JSON object where values are type strings like "email", "integer", "boolean"
  • Nested structures — supports objects within objects and arrays of typed items
  • Parameterized types — types like integer(1,100), float(0,1), and enum(a,b,c) accept arguments
  • Realistic output — names, emails, addresses, and other fields are drawn from curated word lists for plausible results
  • Bulk generation — generate up to 1,000 records at once for load testing or seeding databases

Common Use Cases

  • API prototyping — generate mock API responses before the backend is ready
  • Frontend development — populate UI components with realistic sample data
  • Database seeding — create seed data for development or staging environments
  • Testing — generate diverse data sets to exercise edge cases and validate schemas
  • Documentation — produce example payloads for API docs and tutorials
